The statement of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu، from the Polish capital of Warsaw، last Thursday on the Polish people cooperation with the German Nazi Party during the Second World War and the statement of new Foreign Minister Yisrael Katz that "the Poles had infested anti-Semitism in their mother's milk” raise many questions On the timing of issuing such these statements، when Israel was preparing to host " Visegrad Forum". Netanyahu and Katz have caused a crisis that seems to be deeper than expected، with the country that is considered a major part in " Visegrad Forum". Thus، the event that the Israeli state relied upon to form a lobby within the European Union in order to confront the union policies، which are considered by Tel Aviv view supportive to the Palestinian side، was cancelled. the Forum includes four countries from Central-Eastern Europe، Hungary، Poland، the Czech Republic and Slovakia. these countries oppose many components that constitute the foreign and internal policy of the European Union. so Israel sought to exploit its position، to face the decisions and positions of the Union، which is often hostile to the Jewish state from its point of view. Amid the upcoming Knesset elections in Israel scheduled on April 9، it is not unlikely that Netanyahu and Katz would have acted for partisan reasons. Raising such a crisis with Poland would mean strengthening the image of the Likud as a right-wing party، as well as attracting supporters of the far right to vote for the party، which means that the statements were studied and deliberate. Well، there are indications that Netanyahu and the Likud party are sacrificing important strategic relations with Poland and the countries participating at " Visegrad Forum " for partisan and internal political purposes. Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki confirmed that his government considers whether Netanyahu's statement was "in the context of the exploitation of Poland's name in his election campaign" basing on a previous crisis related to this file when Warsaw adopted a law known as the "Holocaust Law." As soon as the storm caused by Netanyahu's statement، came to an end، the new foreign minister، Katz، issued a provocative statement that caused a wave of anger in Poland، when he said that Poles had infested anti-Semitism in their mother's milk، refusing to make any apology and causing an unprecedented aggravation of the crisis، so Warsaw threatened to reduce the level of relations between the two countries. Israeli analysts confirmed to Channel 10 on Monday that making any apology to the Polish government and people is almost impossible at the current period; explain that the apology would weaken the image of "Likud" during the upcoming elections. This reinforces the assumption that the statements made by Netanyahu and Katz were made for electoral purposes. The Polish ambassador to Tel Aviv، drew sharp criticism against Netanyahu and Katz on his twitter account saying:” surprising that the Foreign Minister of Israel makes such a racist remark.. We do not accept this at all”. In fact، there is a logical explanation، which would dispel this state of surprise that overwhelmed a Polish diplomatic figure working in the state of occupation. this explanation Is that Netanyahu and Likud party are sacrificing a strategic relationship of great importance in order to win the votes of the extreme right and right، via a carefully studied tactic.
