Gaza postpones 51st 'Great March of Return' protest

The National Committee for Breaking the Siege decided to exceptionally suspend “The Great March of Return” on its 51st Friday alongside the eastern border fence of the besieged Gaza Strip.
The committee said in a short statement that protests for the 51st Friday were postponed in order to save the lives of protesters amid Israeli escalation against the Gaza Strip، and in preparation for Land Day protests on March 30th، as it would mark one year of “The Great March of Return” protests.
This is the first time the committee suspends “The Great March of Return” protests since its beginning on March 30th، 2018.
Four Palestinians were injured، on predawn Friday، as Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes targeting several sites across the besieged Gaza Strip hours after missiles were reportedly fired from Gaza، on predawn Friday.
Another report pointed that one Palestinian was injured as Israeli forces suppressed the weekly Kafr Qaddum march in the northern West Bank district of Qalqiliya، on Friday afternoon.
Coordinator of the local popular committee of Kafr Qaddum، Murad Ishteiwi، said that dozens of Israeli forces that raided Kafr Qaddum fired rubber-coated steel bullets، tear-gas canisters and stun grenades to suppress protesters.
Ishteiwi reported that one Palestinian was injured with a rubber-coated steel bullet and treated on the spot.
Clashes erupted between Palestinian youths and Israeli soldiers، during which Palestinians responded to Israeli bullets with rocks and empty bottles.
