Gas Tank explosion leaves 8 workers killed، 7 injured in Ein al-Sokhna

Eight workers in a contracting company were killed and seven others injured on Thursday due to gas tank explosion at a phosphate factory in the Northern coastal city of Ein al-Sukhna, Suez governorate.

The explosion occurred when the workers were conducting a pilot operation of the tank. 

Major General Mohamed Gad، Director of Suez Security Directorate، received a notice from his deputy over a tank explosion at a phosphate factory in Ein al-Sukhna area in Suez Governorate causing the death of 8 workers and injuring 7 others.

 

 

The civil protection forces and ambulances rushed to the scene and transported the injured and the deceased to the Suez General Hospital.

 

Police referred the case to Egypt’s public prosecution، to continue investigation and inspection of the explosion’s location.
