Social Media users circulated a rare photo of the late Egyptian legend، Umm Kalthoum with her Nephew on the beach.
The photo gained the admiration of her fans across social media.
It has been 44 years since an estimated four million people paid their last respects to the “Lady of Arab singing،” Umm Kalthoum، who died on 3 February 1975.
Kalthoum’s voice always reached beyond the borders of Egypt. In her lifetime، she sang in most capitals of the Arab world - and، in doing so، she nourished the musical souls of many young Arabs.
Deeply attached to her homeland، Kalthoum devoted a third of her songs in the 1960s to patriotic themes. She is particularly known for her unwavering support of President Nasser، who in turn admired her greatly.
Om Kalthoum passed away on February 3، 1975 but her memory continues to live on 41 years later. In Cairo، a museum dedicated to the musical icon was inaugurated in 2001، while her songs can often be heard playing in taxis، cafés and grocery stores alike.
