Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry held talks with Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis on bilateral relations in various fields as well as consultations on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
Shoukry welcomed the Swiss minister and expressed Egypt's aspiration to enhance relations between the two countries. He called on Switzerland to be a close partner of Egypt in development during the next phase، Spokesman of Foreign Ministry، Ahmed Hafiz.
Hafiz explained that the talks touched on the most important aspects of the economic and trade relations between the two countries.
Shoukry stressed the importance of working to increase Swiss investments in Egypt، which currently amounts to about one billion dollars.
He noted that he hopes that a delegation of Swiss businessmen will visit Egypt to identify the investment opportunities offered by the Egyptian market، especially the major national projects، which will contribute to increasing the volume of trade exchange.
For his part، the Swiss Foreign Minister expressed his pleasure to visit Egypt as an important opportunity to advance and develop the long-term cooperation relations with Cairo، especially in the light of the 110 years of Egyptian-Swiss trade relations.
