The full list of the qualified teams for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)، scheduled to be hosted in Egypt، has included five Arab ones for the first time in the history of the tournament.

The Five Arab teams included:
EGYPT –the host nation took part in the qualifiers and secured their spot after finishing second behind Tunisia.
TUNISIA –Tunisia qualified after they finished top of Group J، two points above Egypt.
ALGERIA –Algeria topped Group D with 11 points to qualify for the finals.

MOROCCO – Herve Renard’s side booked their spot in the Afcon following 2-0 win over Cameroon in Casablanca in November.
MAURITANIA – Mauritania secured their first ever qualification with a 2-1 win over Botswana in November.
While the all 24 countries that will do battle to become the next continental champions are: Egypt، Madagascar، Tunisia، Senegal، Morocco، Nigeria، Uganda، Mali، Guinea، Algeria، Mauritania and Ivory Coast.

Others include: Kenya، Ghana، Angola، Burundi، Cameroon، Guinea-Bissau، Namibia، Zimbabwe، DR Congo، Benin، Tanzania and South Africa.

Equatorial Guinea، Sudan، Malawi، South Sudan، Seychelles، Ethiopia، Central African Republic، Rwanda، Botswana، Niger and Eswatini all missed out on qualification، while Sierra Leone were disqualified.

The biggest shock was the early elimination of Zambia، who won the AFCON in 2012.

The group draw for AFCON 2019 will take place on April 12 in Cairo، with the tournament proper starting on June 21.

Egypt won the rights to host the tournament after being selected over South Africa.

The 2019 African Cup of nations was initially scheduled to be hosted by Cameroon. However، Cameroon was stripped of hosting the tournament for serious delays in preparations.

Egypt is the most successful nation in the history of the competition as Egypt has won a record of seven titles including three in a row between 2006 and 2010.
