Egypt's Minister of Health Hala Zayed said on Wednesday that a total of 15.000 non Egyptian citizens in 27 governorates underwent medical checkups as part of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi's 100 Million Healthy Lives initiative to eradicate Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) and detect chronic diseases.
Zayed pointed out that 17 million citizens were tested so far during the third phase of the initiative since its launch on 1 March، noting that the state aims at reaching all citizens who might have HCV and treating them for free.
The Minister added that total of 49 million citizens in 27 governorates underwent medical checkups as part of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi's initiative.
The third phase of the initiative has witnessed a high turnout by the citizens who flocked to all medical check-up points with a rate exceeding 160% of the daily target، Zayed said. Zayed lauded the efforts of all medical teams working in the initiative.
