“Ashraf Marwan was never a spy for Israel”، Mubarak says

Former Egyptian president، Mohamed Hosny Mubarak confirmed that, Egyptian Politician, Ashraf Marwan, the son-in-law of former Egyptian president Gamal Abdul Nasser was never a spy for Israel.

 

“Late President Anwar Al-Sadat assured to me that he sent through Marwan misleading information to those who imagined that they recruited him for their benefit”، Mubarak said in an interview to Kuwaiti TV Host، Fajr al Saeed.

 

Moreover، Mubarak uncovered secrets of the second Gulf War، when Iraqi forces invaded Kuwait.

 

Concerning، Israel desire to join the Arab league (AL)، Mubarak said that he has told former Israeli President، Shimon Peres that AL is “the house of Arabs”، and advised him to give up this idea.

 

In addition، Mubarak revealed details about his meeting with former US president، Bill Clinton on Jerusalem. “I clearly told him that No Arab leader will give up Jerusalem”، Mubarak said.

 

Regarding Syrian-Israeli peace process، Mubarak noted that he had encouraged Former Israeli Prime Minister، Ishak Rabin to negotiate with Syrians.

 

“After negotiations، Rabin informed me that the two parties had agreed that Syria will restore its territory، yet the point of contention was the Syrians’ refusal to establish relations with Israel، and to open embassies”، Mubarak said.

 

“After the assassination of Rabin، The Syrians wanted to implement the agreement yet after Netanyahu took office، the opportunity was lost”، Mubarak continued.
