During a meeting with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Minister of Communications Amr Talaat on Thursday، Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi called for applying the latest technologies and global criteria in the implementation of the communications and IT projects.
The president directed the government to invest in human resources through increasing training programmes to cope with labour market requirements، Egypt's presidential spokesman Bassam Rady said.

El-Sisi stressed that communications and information technology are a top priority for the state given their vital role in the economic and societal development process.

Egyptian Ambassador to China Osama el Magdoub said he conveyed a message from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi - the current chair of the African Union - to participants in the Africa Day celebration in Beijing.

In the message، President Sisi underlined the importance of honing youth skills to be qualified to lead the future of Africa، Magdoub said.

He also highlighted the importance of promoting the African women's role.

EgyptAir sponsored the celebration and offered free tickets from Beijing to Cairo to the attendees.

Magnitude-8 earthquake strikes north-central Peru
A large earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 8.0 struck north-central Peru early Sunday، the US Geological survey reported.

The quake، at a moderate depth of 114 kilometers (71 miles) struck at 2:41 a.m.، 80 kilometers (50 miles) southeast of the village of Lagunas and 158 kilometers (98 miles) east-northeast of the larger town of Yurimaguas، ABC News said.
