Israeli forces Monday overnight detained 11 Palestinians from various parts of the West Bank، said the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS)، WAFA news agency reported.
PPS confirmed that Israeli forces detained four Palestinians and ransacked several houses across the southern West Bank district of Hebron.
Security sources elaborated that among the four detainees were two from Hebron city and another from Idhna town، west of Hebron.
Coordinator of the Anti-Wall and Anti-Settlement Committee Muhammad Awad confirmed that a number of Palestinians suffocated from tear gas fired by Israeli soldiers during a raid in Beit Ummar town، north of Hebron.
Meanwhile، PPS said that two Palestinians were rounded up from Jerusalem district، including one from Qatanna town، northwest of Jerusalem.
In the central West Bank، Israeli forces rounded up two Palestinian teens from Ramallah and al-Bireh district.
Two other Palestinians were rounded up from Jericho district.
In the northern West Bank، Israeli military vehicles raided Silat al-Harithiya village، northwest of Jenin، where soldiers rounded up a Palestinian after ransacking his coffee shop and house.
Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians، triggering clashes with residents.
These raids، which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority، are conducted with no need for a search warrant، whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
