Egypt will continue exerting great efforts to combat all forms of corruption in all African countries by doubling the training grants offered by the National Anti-Corruption Academy to the African youth working in various law enforcement agencies، President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said during the Anti-Corruption forum (AACF) held Wednesday in Sharm El Sheikh.
Al-Sisi added that Egypt welcomes cooperation with its African brotherly countries and AU organs to exchange best practices in this field.
He pointed out that international cooperation with the main partners of Africa is necessary to achieve the desired benefit in fighting against corruption، hoping that the forum will serve as a platform for the exchange of judicial، security and legislative information and experience as well as an effective mechanism for communication to achieve prosperity.
Noteworthy، Sharm al Sheikh city hosts African Anti-Corruption forum (AACF)، today، Wednesday، under the auspices of Egypt’s President، Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi.
The AACF witnesses the participation of ministers of justice and interior as well as the chairpersons of anti-corruption authorities، auditing institutions and illicit gains authorities. Over 200 senior officials from regional and international institutions will also participate.
It is scheduled that 51 African countries will take part in the forum، including; Tunisia، Morocco، Libya، Algeria، Angola، Burkina Faso and others.
Saudi Arabia، the United Arab Emirates، Jordan and Kuwait will be guests of honour in the AACF.
The two-day conference aims at encouraging African countries to adopt policies، programmes and work plans that contribute to the eradication of corruption and to establish a knowledge linkage base between different regions of the continent on the risks of corruption and its severe negative effect on development.
The forum will address several topics including the continental and national efforts conducted by African countries in accordance with their international and regional commitments، the relationship between corruption and development، capacity building and human resources، the role of civil society and the private sector، and how to enhance African inter-governmental coordination in combating corruption.
