Cairo criminal court adjourned on Tuesday the re-trial of 24 other defendants on charges of conspiring with Hamas، to June 29.
The defendants are charged with collaboration with foreign organizations outside the country، uncovering national security secrets and coordinating with armed groups inside and outside Egypt to launch terrorist attacks inside Egypt.
The prosecution charged the defendants with conspiring with the political bureau of Hamas، and the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood against the state to spread chaos across the nation.
In June 2015، Cairo Criminal Court issued death sentences against a number of MB leaders in the case.
In November 2016، the Court of Cassation annulled the sentences and ordered a retrial of the defendants.
In 2013، Egypt banned the Brotherhood and designated it a terrorist organization. Most of the group's leaders، are in jail on violence and terror-related charges.
