Egypt denies holding talks with Israeli officials, emphasizes efforts to reach Gaza ceasefire with all parties: Source

Earlier Friday, the Associated Press claimed that a high-level delegation Head by the Egyptian General Intelligence Service Chief Abbas Kamel would arrive in Israel to discuss the ceasefire efforts with Israeli officials.

A well-informed source from Egypt has dismissed rumors of any scheduled meetings between Egyptian and Israeli officials in the ongoing push for a ceasefire in Gaza. The source emphasized that communication between Egypt and Israel is currently restricted to security delegations exclusively.

According to a statement from a source reported by Al-Qahera News on Friday, the rumors circulating in some media outlets about planned meetings between Egyptian officials and Israelis are completely untrue.

The source has confirmed that Egypt is actively engaged in discussions with all parties involved, striving to broker a ceasefire that would put an end to the conflict in Israel and alleviate the ongoing suffering of the Palestinian people.

Egypt, the source added, has repeatedly warned of the serious consequences if Israel intends to invade Palestinian Rafah.”

As an Israeli invasion of Rafah seems reportedly imminent, Egypt has intensified its effort to halt it and prevent a human catastrophe.
