Connecting Egypt and Sudan
The start of an experimental run of the electricity connection between Egypt and Sudan is scheduled for the end of the next month، Gamal Abdel-Rahim، chairman of the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC)، told Al-Ahram Weekly.
The experimental run had initially been scheduled for the end of December، but difficulties in construction in the region have delayed completion of the work.
Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T)، one of the largest Indian multi-national construction firms، has now finalised the construction of all the electricity pylons used، even the very high ones crossing the Nile، and has completed the installation of most of the power lines.

Awqaf Minister inaugurates Islamic conference
Minister of Awqaf Mokhtar Gomaa inaugurated on Saturday the 29th conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs that will be held for two days under the auspices of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.

After missing for 15 yrs، remains of Egyptian deported back home
Remains of an Egyptian national، who was missing for 15 years in Italy، were sent back home on Thursday on an EgytpAir flight from the city of Milan، according to a statement from the Egyptian Ministry of Manpower.
Jassim Eid Abdel-Khalek al-Adham، originally from Kafr al-Zayat city of Gharbyia governorate (Delta)، was missing since 2004 and his remains were found in an abandoned building in the city of Piacenza when workers started destroying the building in July 2018، the statement added.
