Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi commemorated the 37th anniversary of the Sinai Liberation Day by laying a wreath at the Memorial of the Unknown Soldier in Nasr City، Cairo earlier Wednesday.

The president also paid his respects at the tomb of late Egyptian President Anwar El-Sadat، who led the 1973 October War for the liberation of Sinai from Israeli occupation.

President El-Sisi was received at the memorial by the Defence Minister، Mohamed Zaki، and a number of military commanders.

On 25 April، Egypt celebrates the completion of the withdrawal of all Israeli military forces from the Sinai Peninsula in 1982، following the 1979 Egyptian-Israeli peace treaty.

Sinai Liberation Day is an official holiday in Egypt.
