Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi has shortly arrived on Wednesday in the Chinese capital Beijing to attend the 'Belt and Road' summit.
The summit will be attended by a number of heads of state، a statement by Egypt's presidential spokesperson said.
The second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation will see the participation of around 40 world leaders، as well as representatives from 100 countries.
Al-Sisi’s participation in the forum comes within the framework of the comprehensive strategic relations between Egypt and China، Presidency spokesman، Ambassador، Bassam Rady stated.
On the sidelines of the forum، President Al-Sisi is expected to hold talks with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping and will also meet the Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang، along with the chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Wang Yang، Rady added.
The visit is expected to see the signing of agreements and memorandums on joint cooperation between Cairo and Beijing.
Moreover، Al-Sisi will hold meetings with heads of states and governments to enhance bilateral cooperation and exchange views concerning important regional and international issues of common interests.
