The refereeing committee at the African Football Confederation (CAF) is comparing between three international referees to officiate the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations opener between Egypt and Zimbabwe on Friday، June 21.
The game will be held on the pitch of Cairo Stadium at 10:00 pm CLT.
A well-informed source said that the CAF referring committee، headed by Djiboutian Sulaimani، differentiates between South African Victor Gomez، Zambi Sikazoui and Ethiopia's Balamak Tseemba to officiate the opener of the 2019 AFCON tournament hosted by Egypt.
The source pointed out that the Gambian Bakari Gassama was excluded from managing the game after leaving the AFCON referees camp for his country after the death of his mother.
Egypt’s national team، led by Mexican Javier Aguirre، is in Group A with Zimbabwe، Congo and Uganda.
Egypt faces Zimbabwe at Cairo’s International Stadium in their opening match. They will also meet Uganda and DR Congo in Group A of the expanded 24-team tournament.
