Egypt’s President، Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi received on Monday، Ambassador Mamadu Sano، Special representative of the president of Guinea-Bissau، at El-Etehadiya presidential Palace.
Sano handed over a written message from President of Guinea-Bissau to Al-Sisi، in which he expressed his appreciations towards Egypt’s leadership and people in addition to its pioneering role in the African continent.
During the meeting، The ambassador reviewed the latest political developments in his country، and the results of the legislative elections which took place last March.
For his part، president al-Sisi lauded the historic relations between the two countries since the liberation war in Guinea-Bissau and Egypt's keenness to support the liberation movement until independence in 1973.
Moreover، the meeting addressed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation between both countries in various fields.
In addition the talks tackled the Egyptian efforts within the framework of its current presidency of The African Union (AU). In the same context، president Al-Sisi stressed on the importance to make a good use of this year in order to push forward the wheel of African joint action، regarding; the activating of the African Continental Free Trade agreement to achieve the continent peoples’ aspirations towards a better future.
