Greek Migration Ministry Announces Plans to Employ Seasonal Farmers from Egypt Starting This Year

According to Reuters, the decision comes under an agreement between Egypt and Greece signed in November 2022 to tackle the worker shortage in the Greek agricultural sector.

Greece is set to welcome approximately 5,000 seasonal farm workers from Egypt beginning this summer, as revealed by the Greek Ministry of Migration on Friday.

According to the Greek minister, the discussions between the two countries centered around the possible expansion of the agreement to encompass the construction and tourism sectors.

Last week, Minister of Migration and Asylum Dimitris Kairidis paid a visit to Cairo.
