Egypt condemns Colombia police academy Explosion

Egypt`s Foreign Ministry condemned the bombing at a police academy in Bogota، Colombia، which killed some 21 people and wounded others on Thursday.

In a statement of the ministry، Egypt expressed its deep condolences to the families of the victims and wished the injured people speedy recovery, asserting Cairo's full solidarity with the government and the friendly people of Colombia in the face of terrorism.

The statement stressed Egypt's rejection of all forms of violence، extremism and terrorism، and renewed its call for the necessity of intensifying international efforts to eradicate terrorism in all its forum، dry up its roots and stand against extremist thoughts.

Noteworthy، a CAR bomb has erupted at a police academy in Bogota، Colombia، killing at least eight people، country's Defence Ministry said.

The explosion ripped through the General Santander Police School in the south of the capital at around 3pm، with initial reports suggesting five people were killed in the blast. He later updated the death toll to eight، although officials have not clarified whether the victims were police trainees or civilians. The city's mayor Enrique Peñalosa said said around 10 people had been injured in the explosion in Colombia’s capital.
