Michael Olise now sits top of the Score90 current power rankings for the Ballon d'Or after a run of strong performances for Bayern Munich. He displaced Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal from first place, with Bayern advancing in the Champions League while Barcelona and Real Madrid went out in the quarterfinals.
Harry Kane is right behind him in second place after climbing from fifth, leaving Yamal and Kylian Mbappé behind in the latest ranking. Bayern also have Joshua Kimmich in ninth overall and Luis Díaz in 11th on the 20-man list, giving Vincent Kompany’s side four names among the leading contenders.
Kane and Kimmich for Bayern
Kane’s rise to second place gives Bayern two players at the top of the list. Kimmich’s position in ninth and Díaz’s place in 11th extend that presence across the rankings, with Díaz joining Bayern last summer.
The latest order tracks with Bayern’s progress in Europe. Barcelona and Real Madrid were eliminated in the Champions League quarterfinals, while Bayern marched on, and that split has fed into the reshuffle at the top of the Ballon d’Or power rankings.
Rummenigge’s 1981 marker
If a Bayern player wins the prize, it would be the club’s first World Player of the Year since Karl-Heinz Rummenigge in 1981. For Bayern, that leaves Olise’s rise carrying more than one ranking change: it also puts the club within reach of a distinction it has not held for 44 years.
The current list gives Bayern a clear foothold, but Olise’s lead over Kane is the part that matters now. He has moved from a strong season into the position that defines the race, and the club’s next results will decide whether that order holds.
