In addition, they affirmed their dedication towards protecting the region from further escalation.

On Tuesday, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani engaged in discussions regarding the ongoing joint efforts to secure a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

In a recent phone conversation, the two leaders delved deeper into their collaborative efforts to facilitate the exchange of captives and streamline the distribution of much-needed humanitarian aid to the embattled strip.

As reported by the Egyptian presidency, El-Sisi and the emir have reaffirmed their dedication to ongoing collaborative initiatives and dialogue with all involved parties in order to bring an end to the conflict.

Egypt, Qatar, and the US have been trying to mediate an agreement between Israel and Hamas for months, but a flurry of diplomacy in recent days appeared to suggest a new push toward halting the fighting.

Israel, whose brutal war on the Gaza Strip has continued for over six months, faces growing international pressure to agree to a ceasefire in Gaza.

The Israeli army has killed, to date, 34,535 and wounded 77,704 since 7 October, most of whom are women and children.

Since the outbreak of the war, Egypt has been pushing for a ceasefire and sustained access to humanitarian aid to alleviate the suffering of the civilians in Gaza.
