During the meetings, Shoukry underscored Egypt’s firm position towards the situation in the Gaza Strip, stressing that there is no alternative to a ceasefire and ensuring the entry of humanitarian aid into the besieged Strip.

In a significant diplomatic meeting on Monday, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken discussed efforts to bring an end to the conflict and improve the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip. The two leaders also delved into discussions regarding the future of the Palestinian cause, highlighting the importance of finding sustainable solutions for lasting peace in the region.

High-level talks took place during a meeting at the World Economic Forum in Riyadh, where foreign ministers from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, and Jordan, as well as the Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, met with the US top diplomat.

During the forum, FM Shoukry had the opportunity to connect with fellow foreign ministers from Norway, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Bahrain, and France.

He further emphasized Egypt’s categorical rejection of military operations in the Palestinian city of Rafah and the forced displacement of Palestinians, stressing the necessity of reaching a comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian cause.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly participated in the World Economic Forum (WEF) on behalf of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, alongside FM Shoukry and Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El-Said.
