Egyptian Civil Alliance Sends Eighth Convoy with 1,800 Tons of Aid to Gaza

The first convoy organized by the NACDW for Gaza was in early October 2023.

On Monday, the National Alliance for Civil and Development Work (NACDW) revealed that its eighth convoy carrying more than 1,805 tons of humanitarian aid had been sent to Gaza.

The convoy was packed with an impressive array of supplies, including more than 1,571 tons of food, around 84 tons of medicines, baby formula, and medical supplies, 10 tons of tents, over 22 tons of clothing and blankets, and a whopping 120 tons of water.

A number of member organizations within the alliance united efforts to organize a convoy aimed at providing much-needed support to Palestinians in Gaza. These individuals are currently enduring a severe humanitarian crisis, including famine conditions, as a result of the Israeli military campaign and blockade in the region.

The seventh convoy was dispatched last week and carried 2,900 tons of aid.

The NACDW was launched in Egypt in March 2022 and comprises more than 30 associations, civil society organizations, and service and developmental entities.

Nearly 5,000 trucks loaded with aid crossed into Gaza from Egypt in April, according to Egyptian media reports.
