Sisi Outlines Egypt's Stance on the Palestinian Issue

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi reiterated his country's clear stance on the ongoing Israeli war in Gaza, emphasizing Egypt's rejection of any displacement of Palestinians from their lands to Sinai or elsewhere. This stance, he stated, is aimed at preserving the Palestinian cause and protecting Egypt's national security.

Speaking on the occasion of the 42nd anniversary of the liberation of Sinai, Sisi stressed Egypt's firm commitment to cease-fire efforts and the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. He highlighted the importance of efforts to establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, ensuring Palestinians receive their legitimate rights.

"These principles are deeply rooted and Egypt is committed to working within this framework to achieve the highest goal of establishing peace, security, stability, and development in the region for the benefit of all its peoples," Sisi said.

Earlier on Wednesday, Sisi warned against any Israeli military operations in Palestinian Rafah, amid reports of an imminent Israeli ground invasion of the city. He told Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte during a phone call that any military operation in Rafah "would have catastrophic consequences for the humanitarian situation in Gaza, as well as for regional peace and security."
