Kuwait-Egypt relations hailed as a ‘role model’ for intra-Arab relations, says Ambassador of Kuwait
In a statement, Ambassador Al-Ghanem noted that the visit is the first for the emir since he assumed leadership last December.
“The visit of Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad would give an impetus to the distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries and move them to broader horizons to cover broader areas” under the wise leadership of the two countries,” he added.
Kuwait’s ambassador to Egypt, Ghanem Saqr Al-Ghanem, emphasized the significance of the “historic visit” as Kuwait Emir Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah is set to meet with President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi on Tuesday.
During his speech, the Kuwaiti ambassador emphasized the enduring and close bond between Kuwait and Egypt, spanning countless years. He hailed these ties as a shining example for Arab nations, illustrating strong fraternal connections and historical significance.
“Highlighting the enduring historical ties that predate Kuwait’s independence in 1961, he emphasized the significant milestones and strengthened bonds achieved through the mutual wisdom and shared visions of both country’s leadership over the decades. This collaborative effort has led to their consolidation across various sectors,” he elaborated.
Al-Ghanem pointed out the identical positions of the two leaderships on all regional and international issues, including the Palestinian cause and the Israeli war on Gaza that has now lasted for more than seven months.
He emphasized that the visit confirms the Kuwaiti leadership’s keenness to strengthen communication and consultation with Egypt on the latest regional and international events.
The Egyptian president and the Kuwaiti emir are also planning on discussing issues of common interest and the development of bilateral relations in several fields.
Ambassador Al-Ghanem expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s position towards his country since its independence and Egypt’s support for its security and stability.
He praised Egypt’s efforts to improve its investment climate and open its doors to Arab and foreign investments in general and Kuwaiti investments in particular.
“The State of Kuwait occupies a distinguished position among Arab investments in the Egyptian market, which demonstrates the confidence of the Kuwaiti investor in the Egyptian economy and the investment opportunities available in this market.”
He noted that the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development has financed more than 50 strategic projects in Egypt.
Al-Ghanem expressed his confidence that the Emir’s visit to Cairo and his meeting with President El-Sisi would be successful and benefit both countries and their peoples.
