Ambassador Şen delivered a speech on Tuesday at the festivities honoring Turkish Children’s Day and National Sovereignty, held at the ambassador’s residence in Cairo.

Celebrating the Day of Children and National Sovereignty holds great significance as it symbolizes the strength of our nation’s will and sovereignty. By honoring children on this day, we are acknowledging them as the driving force behind our continued progress, peace, and prosperity.

Dozens of children from Turkey, Egypt, and Palestine were present at the celebration.

Ambassador Şen, pointed out the festivities coincide with the 104th anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and National Sovereignty Day on 23 April.

Turkish Children’s Day is the first children’s holiday in the world, he added.‎

“I congratulate all our children and the children of the world on this holiday,” adding that this holiday “reminds us of the hopes and aspirations of these children for a more peaceful and prosperous future” said Ambassador Şen

“We feel deep pain towards the thousands of children who are losing their lives today in Gaza, with all regret, adding that inviting Palestinian children to this holiday shows the solidarity of Turkish children with Palestinian children,” he concluded.
