Leaders Sisi and Macron Raise Concerns Over Escalating Regional Instability Amid Middle East Tensions

In a telephone conversation on Monday, President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and French President Emmanuel Macron expressed concern about the escalating tensions in the Middle East and the potential for increased regional instability.

According to Egyptian Presidential Spokesperson Ahmed Fahmy, both leaders have come to a mutual agreement on the crucial importance of reducing tensions across all levels in the region. They also emphasized the necessity of approaching the situation with wisdom and exercising utmost restraint.

In addition, they emphasized the ongoing efforts to secure an immediate and lasting ceasefire in Gaza, as well as the exchange of detainees and the crucial delivery of humanitarian aid.

In addition, the call discussed the collaborative initiatives of both nations in delivering medical aid to Palestinian individuals who have been injured, with the aim of reducing their hardship.

Both leaders emphasized the necessity of achieving a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian cause based on the two-state solution, restoring regional security, peace, and stability.

They also discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations between Egypt and France across various fields and enrich their historical and strategic cooperation, Fahmy added.

Since the Israeli war on Gaza started on 7 October, at least 34,000 Palestinians have been killed, more than 76,000 have been wounded, and over 1.9 million have been displaced.
