Al-Azhar calls for international trial for Israeli occupation over Gaza mass graves

“These mass graves are conclusive evidence that these atrocities and dreadful horrors have become a daily norm for this entity,” Al-Azhar stressed, calling on the peoples of the world to unite in forcing Israel to stop the war and pressure its allies to halt these crimes.

After the disturbing revelation of mass graves found at Nasser and Al-Shifa hospitals in Gaza, Al-Azhar, the prominent Sunni Islamic institution, has urged for an international trial to hold the Israeli occupation accountable.

Al-Azhar issued a strong condemnation on Wednesday, denouncing the “heinous terrorist acts carried out by the oppressive Zionist regime against innocent civilians in Gaza.” This statement comes in response to disturbing reports exposing mass graves holding the remains of numerous children, women, elderly individuals, and medical workers.

According to Al-Azhar, the mass graves were discovered in close proximity to the Nasser and Al-Shifa medical complexes in Gaza. Additionally, numerous scattered bodies were uncovered in shelters, displacement tents, and residential areas throughout the strip.

In addition, Al-Azhar demanded an urgent international trial for what it described as ‘the terrorist Zionist occupation government’, which Al-Azhar said has lost all sense of humanity as it continues to commit daily massacres as part of its genocidal war against the Palestinians.

Al-Azhar also reaffirmed the international community’s responsibility to stop the savage aggression against the people of Gaza, which has led to unprecedented suffering and humanitarian disasters.

“This should ensure the protection of civilians and the delivery of sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid throughout the strip,” Al-Azhar added, offering its deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to the Palestinian people and the families of the martyrs.
